August 5, 2021 (published)

Samantha Zurlinden is a veterinary student at North Carolina State University (Class of 2023). She graduated from Colorado State University in 2009 with a degree in Zoology. Before vet school, she worked as a zookeeper and in an open-admission animal shelter where she gained experience and developed a strong interest in animal behavior and positive reinforcement training. Vet school has solidified her interest in clinical veterinary behavior. After graduation, she plans to work in small animal general practice and hopes to eventually pursue a residency in veterinary behavior or shelter medicine.
