Denver — The Colorado Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) plans to soon issue a statement of principles regarding animal welfare, pending the go-ahead from the group’s Board of Directors.
The board, which meets in early November, will decide whether 18 months of work by CVMA leaders accurately represents where Colorado veterinarians need to stand on welfare. The document is designed to act as a filter for future decision making, “reflecting our values and core beliefs,” Executive Director Ralph Johnson says.
