Course Information:
Over the recent decade, there has been increased awareness of pain and attention to the alleviation of pain in cats. Investigations have focused primarily on chronic musculoskeletal pain. The purpose of this presentation is to address not only musculoskeletal but also other types of inflammatory and neuropathic pain in cats.
It is recommended to enroll in It Hurts: Make it Stop - Predict, Prevent, Recognize & Treat Pain in Cats prior to this course. Enrollment closes July 11 for this course.
Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
- Understand the difference between types of pain.
- Identify chronic pain in cats.
- Create a therapeutic plan for neuropathic, musculoskeletal or inflammatory pain.
RACE Accreditation: This program has been approved for 2 hours of continuing education credit in jurisdictions which recognize RACE approval.(20-942077)
Course Agenda:Week 1 (Real Time Session August 10 2023): Feline Chronic Pain Syndromes
In this session, we will discuss identifying chronic pain, understanding chronic pain, and creating therapeutic plans for neuropathic, musculoskeletal, or inflammatory pain.
